Photographed in Los Angeles in 2022 using 35mm experimental film which has been pre-soaked in different chemicals and organic material which decays the film. The unexposed film is then dried before loading to be exposed in my Nikon F100 film camera.
The Astronomers Monument is in front of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, California. The large outdoor concrete sculpture honors the work of six greatest astronomers of all time:
Hipparchus (fl. 150 BC), Nicolaus Copernicus (1473–1543), Galileo Galilei (1564–1642), Johannes Kepler (1571–1630), Isaac Newton (1642–1727), and William Herschel (1738–1822).
Albert Einstein was considered for inclusion, but planners ultimately decided it would be inappropriate to feature someone still alive (the monument was completed in 1934; Einstein died in 1955).
