This is Lenin Square, the central plaza of Pripyat, viewed from above. The large building on the right is the Palace of Culture “Energetik,” once the main hub for community life in the city. It hosted concerts, film screenings, sports events, and political meetings.

Behind it are apartment blocks, some still bearing Soviet slogans and emblems. The layout was designed as a model Soviet city, with wide open spaces, grid-planned housing, and civic buildings arranged around communal zones.

Today, trees grow through cracks in the asphalt, and the square is silent.
