Photographed in Venice Beach in Los Angeles in 2022 using 35mm experimental film which has been pre-soaked in different chemicals and organic material which decays the film. The unexposed film is then dried before loading to be exposed in my Nikon F100 film camera.
Commonly referred to as "Skydusters," these towering palms are among the most iconic and visually striking species in Los Angeles. You can't really go anywhere in Los Angeles without seeing a palm tree. However, the City of Los Angeles has chosen to stop planting new palm trees, citing their lack of adequate shade in a city facing rising temperatures. Additionally, palm trees consume significant amounts of water, a resource growing increasingly scarce in Southern California due to global warming.
