A chateau with a beautiful staircase. I accessed this chateau a few times and produced the following works here - Les Histoires, Chateau Dégradé and Chambre de la Comtesse.
During the twelfth century the first château in this area was owned by a knightly family. Unfortunately the building became a victim of the Thirty Years’ War and it was looted and partly burned down. In the mid 18th century the foundation of the present château was built. At that time, the castle had only one floor. A century after its construction, the façade of the chateau was altered and a second floor was added.
After World War II, the property remained uninhabited and it was eventually sold in the 1980’s to a French lawyer. Unfortunately part of the building collapsed in the late 1990s. I visited a few times in 2016. Unfortunately in December 2017 a huge fire destroyed almost everything and only a part of the façade survived, despite the efforts of the fire brigade.

- Your artwork will then be framed to conservation standard
- The frame profile will be approx 40mm wide by 30mm deep.
- Off-white textured acid free mount.
- 2mm clear standard picture glass (UV protected 66%) Low reflection option available.
- Mounted onto acid free backing board.
- 2mm Kraftboard back.
- Fixings are included for hanging.
Delivery
- Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for delivery.
- Unframed works will be sent in a tube via a signed delivery service.
- Framed works will be safely packaged, crated and insured and will then be delivered via a courier or international shipper.
