"Cotton Factory I" was inspired by an extraordinary abandoned factory I visited after an art residency at Villa Lena. Armed with new ideas and materials from the residency, I experimented extensively, leading to this new direction.
To bring the work to life, I included texture and narrative by incorporating scraps of paper, fading fabric, and dust collected from the factory floor. These elements merge with a scene I photographed in the sewing room, featuring colourful cotton reels. This piece embodies my love for weaving stories and textures into my art, and it continues to inspire my creative vision.
