A monastery built in the 1930's. It was a generous monastic complex of 800 rooms. After World War II, the monastery together with the local hospital. The army  used it as their barracks until the early 1990's.

The greatest damage to the building came after the Velvet Revolution from homeless people and vandals.

When I was here I saw several homeless people, who started to follow me. It was a little unnerving, as I had a huge amount of camera equipment with me. I kept out of their space, and they eventually realised I was only there to take photos, so they left me to it.

After 1990, the monastery was due to be used as a congregation place for the sisters, but due to lack of funds it was sold. Since 2005, the building had been owned by a company who wanted to build a casino, then flats. Illegal demolition took place without the proper permissions and because the building condition had deteriorated so much and it was such a dangerous structure left as it was, that the only viable option was full demolition. The owner only received a 6 figure fine.
