The monumental facade of Palazzo delle Finanze in Palermo, its portico framed by heavy columns and historic iron gates. Built on the site of the former Vicaria prison and substantially remodelled in 1840, the palazzo remains a striking example of Neoclassical civic architecture in the city.
I photographed the building as part of my ongoing work with Agenzia del Demanio, documenting State-owned places where architecture, history and future potential meet. Work from this project is currently exhibited at the Palermo Urban Center as part of Memoria e Visione, on view until the end of September.
