This psychiatric hospital was built in the late 19th century and started serving the patients in its province. What made this hospital one of the most important is the work of a patient hospitalised in the 50's. During his time there he scratched graffiti into nearly 200 metres of the hospital walls with the buckle of his waistcoat. It is sought to be a masterpiece and his work was recorded by many directors and writers. The corridor pictured here depicts a fast rate of decay, with parts of the roof and tiles falling into the building allowing beautiful shafts of light to bathe upon the walls.
