I pretty much let this place completely slip out of my memory for a long time after my first visit in 2011 or 2012, so long ago I can't remember. We rolled up early doors, got out of the car, walked for a bit, got inside the perimeter and we were caught within seconds.
We just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and were completely unlucky security walked around the corner just as we entered.
Fast forward to 2019 and I hope luck would swing our way, and it did. Lots of walking over this vast former navy site which was built in the early 1900's. You didn't want to be posted here, it was a harsh place! It closed in the 70s and used until the late 90s as a college.
Loved the receding space in this room, and it was so nice to finally photograph it!
I can't believe it's been sitting empty for so long, it's a huge amount of land with a great view. It has some beautiful art deco buildings, including an Olympic sized swimming pool.

- The frame profile will be approx 40mm wide by 30mm deep.
- Off-white textured acid free mount.
- 2mm clear standard picture glass (UV protected 66%) Low reflection option available.
- Mounted onto acid free backing board.
- 2mm Kraftboard back.
- Fixings are included for hanging.
Delivery
- Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for delivery.
- Unframed works will be sent in a tube via a signed delivery service.
- Framed works will be safely packaged, crated and insured and will then be delivered via a courier or international shipper.
