Awarded Grade II listing status in 1980, Battersea Power Station is of significant importance in London. It started producing electricity in 1935 and at it's peak, produced a fifth of London's power. I visited in 2013 to photograph Battersea just as the groundwork for renovation was beginning.  This section of the Powerstation - Side B - was built in the 1950's. By the end of WWII, the UK's electricity supply had been nationalised so the national budget did not allow for the same opulent Art Deco styling as Control Room A - however I love the minimalist design - it looks pretty futuristic! This was officially the switch room as the original control room B on the floor above had been removed in the 1980s.  This room has now been renovated into a bar called Control Room B.

This print features a Synchroscope which is designed specifically to indicate if two power networks are synchronized with one another.
