One that had been on my map for some time but didn't quite get round to it. Luckily everything was still easily accessible. A stroll through an overgrown garden and then a choice of entering through multiple wide open doors. I do love a fun and tricky access but sometimes you need something "walk in".
This is an absolutely beautiful 18th century villa which had been initially built as a small residence then later transformed into a grand palace which became the home of an Italian senator.. then its last owners were nuns and it has been unoccupied now for over 20 years.
I loved this beautiful corridor with its rich frescoes. The door opened out onto a large terrace with a great view over the landscaped but overgrown garden and surrounding hills.
